Pater: Man vs Beast

Posted by Pater , Monday, December 31, 2018 6:21 PM

According to Darwin, Man and Animal descended from the same basic, indistinguishable gene pool and it is only evolutionary factors over millions of years that have allowed Man to separate and take on the mantle of hegemony power.  In contrast, the Bible suggests that Man and Animal originated separately at their very beginning,  with Man's supremacy intentional and by Divine decree.  So which is correct - are we at the top of the food chain by sheer dumb luck and nothing more, or can we insist on inherent primacy that is a priori and on purpose?  Since the answer has an impact on how you Avocado Juniors will grow up to treat the animals we share this planet with, it's worth investigating.  And what better evidence than the unique month of December.

Winter is a time of darkness, quiet and hibernation for the animal kingdom.  If we are all at our core essentially the same, wouldn't it require us humans to do the same?  If you Avocado Juniors are anything to go by, the answer is a distinct no!

Yes, while our furry cousins hide in the darkness from the cold, we party hearty with loved ones and lots and lots of candles!!!  If ever proof was needed that we are the superior species, then this is it.  Or is it?

Not all animals hibernate from the snow and insane windchill, for 6 months.  Some have evolved the navigational skills, and wing span, to cross over Trump's border wall (!!!) without a passport.  Unfortunately the best us lesser species can manage is Nexus, travel points and way too much luggage...
...but then again, maybe it's worth it if it means you Avocado Juniors can go outside without four layers of clothing to play in the sand and frolic in the water...

Okay so the evidence is inconclusive and Pater isn't sure if our superiority over the animal kingdom is pre-ordained or by chance, but one thing is for certain: you Avocado Juniors are definite evidence that we have the Vegetation World beat hands down!
