Pater: Loving Summer (part 2)

AJ1, after such a slow, boring summer, Grandma Toronto decided that it was only right to bring some fun into your dreary school holidays.

"Sure," said Mater and Pater, "what did you have in mind?  A fun trip to a tourist attraction?  A shopping expedition?  Hang out with family?"
"Yes, said Grandma Toronto, "only in London."
"London, Ontario?" asked Mater and Pater. "That doesn't sound like fun, but sure, we'll pack her a lunch and you can pick her up tomorrow."
"Um, okay", replied Grandma Toronto, "but she may need more than a bag..."
"You're where?!!" stuttered Mater and Pater when AJ1 called a few hours later...
"What are you doing in London, England? And what do you mean you're staying in an old hotel?  Just how old is this 'Hendon Hall Hotel'?" asked Mater.
"The brochure said it was built in 1756," said Grandma Toronto, taking the phone from a bemused AJ1.
"You're staying in a place older than the US and Canada?! Is it run down and decrepit?"
"Not exactly..."
"Ok, it seems decent.  And Pater thinks it'll be good for AJ1 to learn about her British roots.  In fact he's putting a list together right now of places for you, Grandma London and AJ1 to visit," said Mater.
"Oh that's okay," said Grandma Toronto, "we've already decided where we're going."
"Pater's looking dubious.  He wants to know how you'll get around."
"I'm sure we'll manage..."
"So where are you planning on visiting?" Mater whispered into the phone.
"Why are you whispering?" asked Grandma Toronto.
"I forgot to tell Pater that you don't need his help with putting an itinerary together and he's on the 4th page of his list.  He thinks you should take AJ1 to Hamley's Toy Store."
 "Already done."
"What about roaming the streets of London?"
"Done that too."
"Well Pater thinks AJ1 will love the Natural History Museum."
"Um, done as well."
"I see that Pater's underlined Buckingham Palace several times but he thinks it will be too difficult to get in."
"Done. The Queen was not home."
"Wow, you ladies are good.  But what about catching a show?"
"Yup and it was Wicked!" said Grandma Toronto.
"You must be exhausted.  Why don't you visit some of the local sites where Pater grew up?"
"Done.  And AJ1 even tried out Pater's old violin!"
"She's not bringing that home!" said Mater.
"Don't worry, we don't have room in our luggage."
"Ah yes, Brent Cross.  What did Grandma London and AJ1 do while you were shopping?"
"They amused ourselves.  Yorkdale needs one of these!"
"Hi Mater, it's AJ1."
"Hi sweety.  It sounds like you've been busy.  What was the best place you visited?"
"Grandpa London! I haven't seen him since I was a baby."
"Ah, you're cute."
"Mater, what have the boys been up to since I left?" asked AJ1, her maternal FOMO shining through.
"Oh, not much..." lied Mater.

"So did you have fun in London, AJ1?" asked Pater.
"It was the best! Grandma Toronto was so amazing to take me with her and Grandma London was so amazing for showing us London," said AJ1, "But I can't wait to come home and see you, Mater and the boys.  But maybe first I can have one last adventure..."
